A two-time Kerrville New Folk finalist, Anke Summerhill’s diverse background and powerful gift of observation have seasoned her songwriting and performances with qualities that embrace compassion and human diversity. She is excited to be joining PSGW for the second time in 2026! Anke Summerhill has been with the Moab Folk Camp since its beginnings in 2008, and it, along with PSGW, are her favourite weeks of the year! As well as performing her own songs in a variety of venues, leading workshops in her community around the Salt Lake Valley and beyond, sometimes joining friends on stage to sing & record harmonies, she has been working with the wonderful non-profit organization, Heart & Soul, since 1998, helping to bring music to people of all ages. Whether in concerts, songwriting workshops, or teaching guitar, she is continually inspired by the healing power of music and its ability to bring people together. Originally from Munich, Germany, with some time spent attending Summerhill school, in England, just before her family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Anke has made her home in the beautiful desert of Utah since the mid 1980’s. She loves to sing, and her distinct alto voice has been compared by David Lindley to the rich resonance of a cello.
