By age 15, Janet Lenore was a performing singer/songwriter/guitarist. For the next ten years, Janet performed with her Mom as a folk duo at a wide range of venues, including the occasional bar gig where she enjoyed saying she wasn't "old enough to go see herself play." Her hometown Parks & Rec gave Janet her first guitar teaching gigs with classes for adults and kids. For awhile, school and career took precedence but, after her Mom passed, Janet realized how much she missed making music. She kicked off the millenium by releasing her first CD of original music, "Ladies of My Family," on which Janet plays mandolin, banjo and theremin besides guitar. Then when Janet inherited her grandmother's beloved ukulele she started to grow a new musical passion. Since then, Janet has performed on ukulele with James Hill, Paul Hemmings, and "Viv Savage" from "This is Spinal Tap." She now teaches ongoing guitar and ukulele classes. Janet's workshops at the Napa Valley Ukulele Festival, the Santa Cruz Ukulele Club, the "Burning Uke" camp-out, the San Francisco Free Folk Festival, and three "Ukes On the Loose" events were well attended. She has lead large ukulele jams at the Kate Wolf Music Festival, Berkeley Ukulele Club, Bronco Billy's Fremont Ukulele jam, and the Alameda Ukulele Club. Janet released her latest ukulele-centric recording, "Pie & Four Other Tasty Treats," in 2014. She makes her home in the San Francisco Bay Area.
